How to find your Google Business Profile ID
Open the Business Profile you manage, then select More → Business Profile settings → Advanced settings. Find the Business Profile ID on that screen. Confirm that you are viewing the right business before copying it. You do not need to change a setting to read the ID.
If somebody asked you for an ID, check the exact request first. A Business Profile ID, a place ID and a store code identify different records or serve different purposes. Sending the wrong one can leave the other person looking at the wrong location even when the number or text was copied perfectly.
What is my Google Business Profile ID?
Google describes the Business Profile ID as the unique identifier for your listing. Its advanced-settings guidance says you can share it with Google support. It is a reference to the profile, not your Google Account password, a verification code or permission for someone to manage the business.
This distinction is useful when arranging help. Providing an identifier tells someone which record you mean. Inviting them to manage it is a separate decision with different consequences. Do not add an owner or send account credentials merely because someone asks which profile has a problem.
The same settings area includes labels, store codes and other controls. Stay with the field you came to read. In particular, finding an ID is not a reason to toggle phone visibility, automated calls or data-sharing preferences. The advanced-settings page notes that changes are saved when made.
How to find Google Business Profile ID
- Sign in with the Google Account associated with the business you manage.
- Find the correct profile and open its management controls.
- Select More, Business Profile settings, then Advanced settings.
- Read the Business Profile ID and keep its field label with the value.
Google's find-your-business instructions describe searching for the business name and city, or searching for “my business” in Google Search. If the account manages several businesses, select the intended location first.
Copy carefully and check the result against the displayed value. A screenshot can be useful when support requests evidence, but crop out unrelated account information, other locations and settings. Do not post an entire administration screen in a public forum when only one identifier is needed.
Imagine a business has two branches with similar names. A staff member opens the first profile in the list and copies its ID for an issue at the other branch. The ID is valid, but the request now points to the wrong record. Checking the location before copying is more useful than repeatedly resending the same number.
What if you cannot see Advanced settings?
Check which account and business you selected, and whether you are looking at management controls or the ordinary public listing. Missing controls alone do not prove that the account is wrong: access, the profile's state or the interface may need investigation. Record any specific message instead of assuming one cause.
If you no longer have management access, finding a public identifier will not restore it. Ask an authorised owner about an invitation or follow Google's applicable ownership or account-recovery process. Do not create another profile just to obtain a settings screen. A new listing would not be a replacement credential for the original one.
How to find Business Profile ID on Google Maps
In the Maps app, open Business. If several businesses are listed, use the selector to choose the one you need. From the managed profile, open the advanced-settings route above. Google's finding instructions distinguish this from simply opening a public Maps result.
A public Maps link can help someone recognise the business you are discussing. Keep it labelled as a link. Do not copy digits from its address bar and assume they are the Business Profile ID. The requester may need a different kind of identifier, and a public result does not give you management rights.
Before sharing anything, compare the business name and the relevant location information. A correct-looking name can belong to another branch, a similarly named business or a different listing. If the record is unclear, explain that uncertainty instead of assigning an ID to the business by appearance alone.
How to find Google Business Profile place ID
For a place ID, use the finder in Google's Places documentation. Search for the place, inspect the match and copy the returned identifier. This refers to a place in Maps and the Places database, rather than being an instruction to open Business Profile management settings.
Google describes place IDs as text values of variable length. A place may have multiple place IDs, and IDs may change over time. Google recommends refreshing stored values older than 12 months. These facts do not mean that two results automatically establish two duplicate business listings.
If a developer asks you to supply one, confirm the intended location and the field they expect. Do not shorten the value or replace it with a number that looks more familiar. A copied identifier should retain its exact characters and remain associated with the place you checked.
What about API location IDs?
Google's Business Information API reference documents a location resource name in the form locations/{locationId}. It separately describes a storeCode and metadata fields such as placeId, mapsUri and newReviewUri. The presence of several identifiers in one resource is a reason to preserve their labels, not to treat them as interchangeable.
You do not need to set up an API integration merely to read the ID in Advanced settings. If an existing integration needs a resource name, have its authorised maintainer identify the expected field and format. Do not guess a conversion between a browser URL, a place ID and an API resource.
A link to a Maps location and a link where someone can leave a review are also different destinations. The API documents them separately. Check what the recipient wants to do: identify a profile for support, show a place on a map or send someone to a review page. That purpose helps prevent the wrong value being used in the right-looking box.
How to find Google Business Profile CID
If a tool asks for “CID”, ask for the exact field definition and its documented retrieval method. The standard Business Profile advanced-settings guide does not describe a CID retrieval procedure. That limited statement does not mean no Google product or external tool uses the term.
Do not assume CID must be one of the identifiers above, or that the person asking is unreliable simply because the label differs. A useful clarification is: “Do you need the Business Profile ID from Advanced settings, a Places identifier, or a value defined by your tool?” An example format without real account data can help resolve the ambiguity.
Avoid giving an unknown identifier service access to your Google Account just to discover which field it means. The first step is documentation, not extra permissions. If a value has already been supplied, confirm what it identifies before using it to change a profile or connect another system.
Is the Business Profile ID the same as the store code?
No. A store code helps associate locations with your own records. Google's bulk-spreadsheet guidance calls these business codes and requires a different code for each business, no longer than 64 characters. The API describes storeCode as an external identifier unique within an account.
For a business with several locations, keep the store code beside the profile's name and Google-assigned identifier, with separate labels. A code your team recognises can help organise work, but it is not a substitute when support asks for the Business Profile ID.
Do not change an established code during a simple ID lookup. It may already be used in the business's records or an integration. If the code itself needs correction, agree that change with the person responsible for those records rather than treating it as harmless formatting.
How to find Google Business Profile ID for suspended account
First distinguish a profile restriction from a restriction affecting the Google Account. If the affected profile's Advanced settings remain accessible, read the ID there. If they are unavailable, do not invent a value or substitute an ID from another location.
Google's suspension guidance starts the appeal route with the associated account and selection of the affected profile. For an account restriction, its instructions describe an account appeal before a subsequent profile appeal. Use the process that matches the actual restriction, not whichever screen happens to be easiest to open.
The ordinary profile-selection route is not proof that IDs are never needed. Google's appeals guidance specifically requires a spreadsheet with the Business Profile ID for each location when appealing more than ten profiles. If a form or support request asks for an ID you cannot retrieve, explain the access limitation through the relevant help route. Do not manufacture one to complete the field.
Prepare relevant records before starting an appeal, and follow the current instructions for that case. Do not create another listing while the appeal is under review. Knowing an ID does not establish eligibility, decide an appeal or promise reinstatement within a particular time.
Do I need the ID to ask Google for help?
Use the information requested by the specific support process. Google expressly allows sharing the Business Profile ID with support, and some workflows require it. Other steps let you select a profile from the account. Neither fact justifies a blanket claim that every request requires an ID or that none does.
Keep the identifier with a short description of the problem and the correct business location. If you are following an existing case, preserve the case reference separately; a support case number and the profile identifier answer different questions. Provide relevant information through the intended channel without including passwords, verification codes or customer records.
How to check this yourself
Read the request that led you here and identify its exact field name. Then select the correct managed business, read the corresponding identifier and compare the copied value with its source. Keep the field label attached so it is not mistaken for another type later.
If two profiles or two places appear to match, stop short of merging, moving or deleting anything. A shared address alone does not prove that two listings represent the same business. Note the specific difference and resolve which record the request concerns before changing data.
Your next step should match the remaining problem: clarify the requested identifier, retrieve it through authorised access, or explain why it is unavailable. If you need help understanding an ambiguous profile or access situation, ask Madloba Consult about a profile audit. Start with the public business reference and a description of the mismatch, without account credentials or personal records.

Frequently asked questions
what is my google business profile id
It is Google's identifier for your listing. Open the managed profile, then More, Business Profile settings and Advanced settings. Read the Business Profile ID without changing neighbouring settings. Confirm that you selected the correct business before sharing it through the intended support channel.
how to find google business profile place id
Use the Place ID finder in Google's Places documentation and confirm the business and location before copying the result. A place ID identifies a Maps place; it is not a management invitation or a substitute for the Business Profile ID requested by support.
how to find google business profile cid
Ask the requester which system and exact field they mean by CID, and request its documentation or an example format without real account data. The standard advanced-settings guide does not give a Business Profile CID retrieval procedure. Do not substitute a place ID, store code or profile ID by guesswork.
how to find google business profile id for suspended account
If advanced settings remain accessible for the affected profile, read the ID there. If they are not, do not invent it from a public URL. Google's suspension appeal route starts with the associated account and profile selection. Follow the actual request; appeals for more than ten profiles require each Business Profile ID in a spreadsheet.
Is the Business Profile ID the same as the store code
No. A store code is an identifier used to organise and associate business locations with your own records. It is separate from the Google-assigned Business Profile ID. Do not rename a store code simply to make it look like an ID someone requested.
Do I need the ID to ask Google for help
It depends on the support process. Google explicitly says the ID can be shared with support, and its instructions for appeals involving more than ten profiles require it. Ordinary profile selection in an appeals tool does not prove that no support request can ever ask for an ID.
