Google treats eligible individual practitioners differently from ordinary branches. Google describes an individual practitioner as a public-facing professional, typically with their own customer base. The explicit eligibility conditions are that the practitioner is public-facing and can be contacted directly at the verified location during stated hours. If several practitioners work at one location, Google says the organisation should have its own profile and eligible practitioners may have separate profiles using only their own names. If one practitioner is the sole public-facing practitioner at a branded location, Google says it is best to share one profile with the organisation. This is an eligibility question, not a reason to create duplicate profiles for every employee or specialty.
A Google Business Profile does not automatically transfer to a family member, employee or successor when an account owner dies. First check whether another existing owner or manager can still access the profile. If an authorised person needs control of an already claimed profile, Google provides an ownership-request process. Access to the deceased person’s Google Account is a separate Google Account process: Google says it may work with immediate family members or representatives in some circumstances, but it does not provide passwords and does not guarantee that a request will be granted. The goal is to restore authorised business management without pretending there is an automatic inheritance path.
A Google Business Profile edit can be accepted and later change again because Google compiles business information from several sources, including the business, public web content, licensed data, user contributions and Google’s own interactions with the place. A one-off delay or pending edit is different from repeated reversion. If old information keeps returning, check whether the same outdated fact is still present on your website, directories, third-party data sources or user-contributed edits before repeatedly changing the profile.
Sharing an address does not automatically make two Google Business Profiles duplicates. But using the same address does not automatically justify two profiles either. Yes, add the ones you keep up to date: the profile has a field made for them, and Google allows one link per platform for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, X and YouTube. Keep them out of the website field, which is for a site that represents your business location.
